Information you add
NDT Studio lets you record professional profile information, an optional profile photograph, inspection experience, employers and projects, CPD activities, qualifications, certificates, reviewer information and signatures, procedures, field notes, standards-watchlist entries and supporting images or documents. This information is entered by you and is used only to provide the app’s features.
Local storage and private iCloud synchronization
NDT Studio maintains application data locally on your device as part of normal operation. Your professional records can also synchronize between supported iPhone, iPad and Mac devices signed in to your Apple Account using Apple’s private iCloud/CloudKit infrastructure. Depending on what you store, synchronized information may include your professional profile, inspection and logbook records, CPD, certifications, Document Library records, Field Notes, standards-watchlist items, reviewer and signature information, and related documents, photographs, images or evidence.
CloudKit uses your private iCloud database. NDT Studio does not require a separate Ahrend Digital Studios account, and Ahrend Digital Studios does not operate its own cloud database containing your synchronized professional records. We do not use CloudKit synchronization to inspect those records or use synchronized professional records for advertising or tracking. Synchronization depends on your Apple Account, iCloud availability and Apple’s services, terms and privacy practices.
Portable backup and restore
Portable backup is separate from live CloudKit synchronization. When iCloud Drive is available, automatic backup—which is enabled by default—creates verified NDT Studio backup archives in your own iCloud Drive using a rotating current backup set. You can turn automatic backup off, create a manual iCloud Drive backup, or create portable backups and reports and choose where to save or share them using Apple’s system interfaces. These archives are intended for recovery and portability, not live synchronization. Ahrend Digital Studios does not store the archives on its own servers.
Permissions
- Camera: access is not requested at launch. It is requested only when you select a camera-based feature, such as taking a profile photograph, capturing a certificate or supporting image, adding CPD evidence or a field-note attachment, or scanning a single- or multi-page Document Library document. Document scans are created on the device as PDFs; no OCR or external image-processing service is used. Once saved as part of your professional records, a scan may synchronize through your private iCloud/CloudKit storage.
- Photos and Files: accessed only when you choose an image or document to attach, import or restore, or when you choose where to save or share an export or portable backup. This includes Document Library imports and restores from Files or iCloud Drive. Saved attachments may form part of records synchronized through your private iCloud/CloudKit storage.
- Notifications: may be used for optional reminders when those features are enabled.
Reviewer information and signatures
Reviewer names, roles, organisations and handwritten signatures are entered as part of a record at the user’s request. NDT Studio does not independently verify a reviewer’s identity, authority, qualification or signature. Users are responsible for obtaining permission to record another person’s information.
Sharing and exports
The app can generate logbook, CPD and professional-record documents. Reports and exports are created only when you request them, and you choose where to send or save them. User-initiated sharing and exports, portable iCloud Drive backup, and live CloudKit synchronization are separate functions.
Purchases and subscriptions
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through StoreKit and your Apple Account. Ahrend Digital Studios does not receive your full payment-card details.
Analytics and advertising
The current version contains no advertising SDKs and no third-party behavioural tracking. If this changes, this policy and the relevant App Store privacy disclosure will be updated.
Deletion and retention
You can delete individual records and their attachments within the app. Where those records are synchronized through iCloud, those changes form part of the synchronized dataset across your supported devices. Deleting the app removes locally stored app data from that device, but synchronized information may remain in your private iCloud storage or on other supported devices, subject to your Apple Account and iCloud settings. Previously exported files and portable backups remain wherever you saved them. Automatic and manual backup archives may remain in your iCloud Drive after the app is deleted until you remove them from iCloud Drive. Ahrend Digital Studios does not retain a separate professional-record database or its own copy of those files or archives.
Professional responsibility
NDT Studio is a recordkeeping and reference tool. It does not certify personnel, approve inspection work, replace employer authorisation, or replace applicable procedures, standards and regulatory requirements.
